Family Discipleship
I could make the argument that this is the most important part of discipleship. All of your hard work, all of your study, all of what is taught by godly leadership comes down to what you are doing in your home. It can be hard for some people to know where to begin when it comes to discipling your family. Different families are in different situations. It is the Biblical model for the father to take the lead here, but not all families have a father. People get married who already have children in the picture, so where do you start if you are in this situation? There isn't a one solution that fits all when it comes to these things so we will be looking at different principles that you can implement to help you no matter what situation you are in. The first general principle that I would like for you to implement is this: Disciple your family every day. That is imperative. It may be hard at first to do that, but what you will do is create a habit, a way of life. Once discipleship becomes a way of life or a habit it will be much easier. I recommend doing something simple such as just reading the Scriptures out loud and then explaining them. That is what I have done 90% of the time with my family. The more you read and explain the better you will become. I recommend taking a look at the section on this website called "How to Study the Bible."
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.
I would also recommend looking at the sections on this website called: Personal Discipleship, D1, and D2. These will help you fine tune what you are teaching your family.
